It’s been a long time since I wrote and I have some sadness about that. I wish I would have documented more!  But the time has come. Our home for the last 22 years is now on the market. It’s been a wonderful home, in a beautiful  neighborhood, with neighbors we will miss! The House of a different color was the perfect location for us when we landed there in 1999. Just a 5 block walk to my office. It sat in the center of the region where my musician husband Joe performed.  Thousands of gigs, always making his way home to me.  In later years it was just blocks from my art studio. It has served us well. Life moves forward.

The lower unit, and rental potential helped us purchase our home initially. The lower unit became my sons very first apartment when he was ready. It became my daughters home of 10 years when she came home from college. Our joke was always our kids don’t live under our roof, they live under our floor!  As a separate unit we could decide to see each other, or decide not to, but it was comforting knowing they were close. My son sold his home and moved to Texas last year. My daughter bought a home last summer in a beautifully colorful neighborhood, not far, but no longer under our floor. I miss them both. Life moves forward.

Joe and I are taking our next great adventure on the North Oregon Coast. A lifelong dream of mine. It’s beautiful and a slower pace of life. Southside park and the house of a different color and the beautiful people that call Southside park home will always be part of us. The house is ready for it’s next family, for new moments of laughter, life and love. I’ve got mixed emotions. Much gratitude to our house that was our home. Many beautiful memories. Thank you house. Love each other. Be well. We are moving forward. Tj.
